Toll-Free Number: 1-888-616-4298
Important Note for Medicaid Riders: If your ride is covered by Medicaid, please do not call Peoplerides directly to schedule your trip. All Medicaid-funded transportation must be booked through your Medicaid transportation broker (such as MTM or Access to Care). Once your ride is approved, it will be sent to Peoplerides for scheduling. Calling us directly will delay your booking—we cannot schedule Medicaid rides without receiving them through the Medicaid transportation broker.
Important Note for Marshalltown Riders: Only riders who are approved for the Marshalltown Paratransit program are eligible to ride Peoplerides within the City of Marshalltown. Riders can fill out a Paratransit application to assess their transportation needs. If the rider is not eligible for the Paratransit service, they are required to use the Marshalltown Municipal Transit (MMT) bus service. Return your completed Paratransit application to the City of Marshalltown Municipal Transit office at 905 East Main Street, Marshalltown, Iowa 50158 or kpigors@marshalltown-ia.gov. If approved, Paratransit trips can be used for work, medical appointments, shopping, education, social, or any other transportation need a resident may have.

Important Note for Out-of-Town Trips Using Private Pay: The Peoplerides mileage rate is $2.79 per mile. Mileage of a trip is determined using Google Maps and includes only the miles when the passenger is on board.
Changing or Cancelling Your Ride
If you need to change the date or time of your scheduled ride, contact Peoplerides as soon as possible so we can try to accommodate this change. You may cancel a scheduled ride any time – up to the day of service.
For Same Day Cancellations: You must call our office and allow enough time for us to cancel the driver. If the pickup and drop off locations are in the same city, call at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled pick up time. If the pickup and drop off locations are in different cities, call with enough advance notice that we do not send a driver.
Rider Pick-Up
- Be ready 10 minutes ahead of your scheduled pick up time.
- Your driver will wait approximately 3 minutes for you after your scheduled pick up time before leaving to help the next client.
- Note that drivers do not have cell phones, and they cannot call you when they arrive. We expect riders to be ready at the scheduled time of pickup.
- If your driver is late, Peoplerides will make an attempt to contact you.
- When your driver arrives, they will come to your door if needed, but they cannot enter your residence.
Return Trip Rides
If you’ve scheduled a round-trip ride—for example, to and from a medical appointment—please call Peoplerides at 1-641-752-6202 when you’re ready to be picked up for your return. Our dispatcher will notify your driver and coordinate your pickup. Please note: During busy times, there may be a brief wait before your driver arrives.
